It’s a stormy time in our digital lives right now, isn’t it?
It seems like AI taking over my feed was so last year. Now, when I open my Instagram or Facebook, I’m getting hit with post after post of people quitting over Meta ditching its external fact checking. And will TikTok get banned or will MrBeast “save” the day? And we’ve all already forgotten about Twitter (I mean X), haven’t we?
But it’s not like these things are really going to go away, right?
With the chaos in our digital lives, brands must be thinking, “Crap, how are all these things going to change how we engage with our consumers?”
Well, I’m here to tell you unequivocally: who the hell knows.
This is definitely an eyes-wide-open moment where, as brands, we have to be adaptable and flexible.
But also, it’s a time to be proactive.
Instead of waiting around and hoping that your brand’s conversion rate grows or that you don’t lose users, get to work on strengthening those things you can control that we’ve been putting off for too long.
I’ve got three things that I encourage you to get to work on right now:
- Email Marketing
Email marketing is typically 7X more effective than digital when done well. But it’s often the under-nurtured channel. If doing a better job of segmenting your list, honing your story arch, or growing your list is something that just keeps getting pushed to the back burner, now’s the time to make this happen.
- POV and Positioning
Develop a crystal clear, ownable platform around it. Get out of short-term tunnel vision and into a brand building mindset that goes across all of your touch points—from online and digital, to packaging, to email, to events (remember those? It’s time to get back out there).
- Doing Something Remarkable
Stop competing and do something that no one else is doing. People remember remarkable things. What do you have planned this year that is truly remarkable? Your people are ready for it. Are you?
As always, Walden Hyde is here to help.
Alright, I’m going to get back to this important work. I’ll see you out there.
